Sunday Message

TOPIC: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom

Scripture: Galatians 5:1-6,13

Christian Liberty

5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

² Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.

³ And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is ^[b]a debtor to keep the whole law.

⁴ You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

⁵ For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

¹³ For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Sunday Message

TOPIC: The Victorious Faith

Scripture: 1 John 5: 1-5

Obedience by Faith

¹ Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. ² By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—^[a]our faith. ⁵ Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Sermon Outline:

1. The first proof of the new birth is believing that Jesus is the Christ. - verse 1
2. Another proof of the new birth is obedience. - verse 2-3
3. Evidence of our new birth is we are overcoming the world. - verse 4-5
